What if They Held an Impeachment …

… and no one cared?
Other than the Democrats and the media, who has been talking about the impeachment trial? Certainly not the people most of us work or socialize with.
Television viewership of the trial has been disappointingly low (for the media and the Democrats). Interestingly, of those who followed the first day of the trial: FNC had the highest ratings, followed by MSNBC, then the “alphabet networks” with CNN in last place (which has become familiar territory). The Senate gallery was only half full Friday.
The trial’s television ratings and public’s lack of interest demonstrate a number of things:
- To the dismay of the Democrats and the media, most Americans realize this is nothing but a political stunt and aren’t following it.
- People following the trial are highly political (which is why FNC and MSNBC were #1 and #2).
- Leftists want “the real thing,” which is why they are watching MSNBC rather than CNN.
- The American public realizes what CNN has become, which is why independents overwhelmingly chose the “alphabet networks” over CNN. There was a time (e.g. First Gulf War) when people immediately turned to CNN for breaking news. Those days ended long ago.
- Apparently CNN and its parent, AT&T, aren’t concerned that no one is watching their propaganda channel. Under Jeff Zucker’s “leadership”, NBC ranked last among the four broadcast networks. CNN is last among cable news/opinion networks.
- The Democrats are right to be concerned.

With public transport and gas stations shut down sick people (even non-virus like deep cuts, broken bones, heart attack, …) have no way to get to medical facilities.
Even if you get to a hospital, you’ll be in line for hours; plus, if you weren’t infected when you got there you’ll probably be exposed by the time you get treated.

True and probably worked a decade ago. But CNN that was a gold standard when Turner created it, is now trash. MSNBC not far behind. The rest of the Alphabets can’t even draw a crowd a tenth of the size what Eric Severid could draw and he was second fiddle to Cronkite.
Its the ole ‘forest….hear it’ problem. I don’t think it is a plausible tactic anymore. The press sells down with Trump because, well I don’t know why. When Trump was running the press covered him because he was not expected to win but he sold airtime like a banshee. Now they are taking the opposite approach they are playing to a much smaller audience who are looking for a hail mary pass.
