Travel Much?

Expect many changes and higher prices:

All of it is interesting but the first 5 min focus on travel impacts.

And why will travel be different?

* 1 or more airlines will probably fold to bad financial management.
* That will reduce the competition along many routes.
* Business figured out how to conduct business without the need to run a large travel expense. That will be booked over the long haul as savings to the bottom line.
* Will alter the travel patterns. Typically Monday, Friday and Saturday are the high value business rates. The cheap seats on those same routes are Tuesday thru Thursday. The cheap seats will be less or not existent as the business travelers go online for good.
* Costs will be mitigated as the auction value for certain time/gate slots will be less as there will be fewer competitors. Unlikely that those savings will show up in ticket prices however.

The travel industry was knocked for a loop with the advent of the Internet and the rise of third party booking sites. Good chance we will see ancillary industries, hotels, rental cars, catering services, have a reduction in presence. But before we get there for probably the next year some of the best deals on travel are going to be offered by an attempt of many businesses to reestablish market share.

Not sure how it’s competing if they’re only doing it once a week at 8pm.

Paper tigers every one? — — I have noticed a trend. In every case where actions have been taken by either legislatures or the public to challenge a closure order the issuer has folded. Indicates that the issuer knew that their actions would not hold up in court, if it got that far, due to equal protection dictates of the 14Amend. I am pretty much assuming at this point that the Guvs that extended the closures did so as a coordinated effort to blackmail the Feds.

2 – no folding in nj yet, 1000$ disorderly citations being issued to gym members that show up as of last night anyway.

Bring kids to bank… get visit from child services…. leave them home unattended…get visit from child services, if I owned this bank everyone involved would be fired or get some mandatory unpaid ‘time off’.

Sure hope they closed that account.

How long will people put up with this?? Couple this with States like Washington authorizing people being “involuntarily detained and isolated” and you have the seeds of rebellion brewing…or they SHOULD be brewing.

Yes and I think that is for a reason. There are three states where playing chicken for a Fed bailout is make or break for them — Ill, NY, NJ. They have to play it to the end or else restructure.

My guess it was a national rather than local or regional bank. If I had to guess, it would be Chase.

This will also negatively affect the online booking services (Orbis, Cheap Hotels, etc.); fewer bookings means less commissions.

Agreed. Hell somebody like a SouthWest might try not co-brooking with the third party sites. We’ll see.

The Atlantic went from being an independent voice to being a dishonest Dem anti-freedom shill over the past decade or so. Yeah, I’m happy.

“Massive layoffs at The Atlantic. LOLGF, learn to coal mine. ”

In which entrails are divined over whether a special city election in a smallish town in VA is evidence of a wave LOL.
OK, from that description you’d say “no” but it’s fun to look at the pieces of data from all over the country which are cited.

The Atlantic layoffs would also be good cover for severing links with Biden and Obama. Atlantic was in the thick of the building Biden-Ukraine scandal.

Stay home or have your church burned down….

Anyone surprised? FBI offered Steele money to dig up dirt on Flynn.

Not surprised about this one either:

Not that anything will be done but…

This reminds me though, with Cohen being released from prison for home confinement, is Manafort getting the same Covid-19 deal?

Something tells me this one is not going to lead the news tonight or be all the rage for a week… Why did it take Tom Fitton getting involved for the arrest to happen?

5,6,7 years after the fact and damage done…

In related news Mrs Piggy say voting by mail more democratic than in person?

Grenell leaving DNI as Senate confirms Radcliffe (who they also didn’t want) to replace him. I have my doubts Radcliffe is worth a damn, but we’ll see. 49-44

Weissmann headlining for Biden fundraiser…but of course he is, this mf will not only not be in jail like he should be in a Biden admin but probably be made AG or some shit.

This flat out is 20min long — — But this is the best 20min making the case that we did not have to destroy the US economy. Better download a copy too, YT will pull this one when they find it.

It is from the same data sets most libs are using.

In this blog’s preliminary analysis and a more detailed report to be released soon, we fill that gap by providing illustrative estimates of the expected economic downturn on Social Security’s finances. Our preliminary analysis finds that the Disability Insurance (DI) trust fund’s reserves may be depleted during the next presidential term, and the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) trust fund’s reserves may be depleted right around the time of the 2028 presidential election. These projections reflect a substantial further deterioration in the finances of a program that was already facing a large mismatch between income and outlays, making the need for action by policymakers even more urgent.

27 – He’s already confirmed, just not for that post (but it does mean he can serve as ‘acting’ anywhere Trump wants him, and they would never approve him for DNI, for the very reason he’s shown, done the actual job. At least he’s free to move him to Acting FBI director now. …if Trump has the nuts for it. Hell they didn’t even want to approve Radcliffe (remember he was pulled last year because Turtle didn’t want him, but then renominated again which they were also stalling)…till they saw Grenell at the helm going to town.
