Well, the Democrats’ 2020 convention is in the books.
You have to cut them a little slack because it was the first virtual national political convention, but geez ….
Let’s look at some of the lowlights:
- Most of the primary speakers were dinosaurs from the past (the Clintons, the Obamas, the Carters, John Kerry), etc.
- John Kasich and other supposed Republicans blasted Trump and endorsed Biden
- The Democrats shied away from issues and spent most of the time bashing the “Bad Orange Man”
- There were technical difficulties
- Most of the controversial sessions were held in the afternoon and not covered by the media
- Lie-A-Watha participated in the Native Americans chatroom and Stacey Abrams participated in the Democratic Governors Roundtable
- The Democrats removed “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance
- Hunter Biden, who Americans know all too well, and Ashley Biden, who has been arrested several times for drug possession and throwing bottles at cops, vouched for their daddy’s honesty. That’s kind of like Al Capone being a character witness for John Dillinger
- As expected, there was a lot about discrimination and inequality and nothing about crime, rioting and looting
- Television viewership was significantly below 2016
If you are Trump and the people managing the GOP convention, how would you take advantage of the Democrats’ convention and what would you build into the GOP convention and the 2020 campaign? Keep in mind that the media is going to twist, distort and attack everything you do.

As I have said before, I suspect (and hope) that Nick Sandmann’s presentation will be the beginning of an all-out war against the media. There is no possible way to defend the coverage CNN and other leading media organizations gave to the boys from Covington Catholic. Two days as a lead story on CNN for boys who may have possibly been rude to a 62-year old man. Add to that the fact that bloggers, not the media, discovered that Nathan Phillips never served in Vietnam.
The media is going to do everything possible to destroy Trump and protect Biden. Why hold back?

When the CA Dems had a state convention, I recall that you basically couldn’t get admittance unless you pledged to vote for free healthcare for illegals. If your mother comes to visit from Mexico, you are covered. If your mother comes to visit from Pennsylvania, you’re on your own.

If I’m a Repub strategist, I’ll focus on:
1) Positive–the Trump economy, stronger military, the Wall
