Americans Believe there’s a War on Cops

While the NFL and NBA are expressing their concern about the safety of blacks (many of whom are career criminals, high on drugs) … 10-20 who die in police custody, most Americans are becoming more concerned about a war on police. A majority (59%) support Blue Lives Matter legislation that would make attacks on law enforcement and first responders a hate crime.

Most voters believe there is a war on police in America today and want to make attacks on cops punishable as a hate crime. Blacks worry most that these attacks will make their communities less safe.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters think there is a war on police going on. That’s up from 43% two years ago and up from a previous high of 58% in 2015. Just 29% disagree, while 12% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Fifty-nine percent (59%) also support the adoption of a Blue Lives Matter law in their state that would make attacks on police and first responders a hate crime and increase the penalties for such attacks. That’s unchanged from 2016 when Louisiana became the first of more than a dozen states to adopt such a law. Only 25% oppose a Blue Lives Matter law where they live. Sixteen percent (16%) are not sure.

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of voters are concerned that deadly attacks on the police will lead to a shortage of police officers and reduce public safety where they live, with 44% who are Very Concerned. Thirty percent (30%) don’t share that concern, but that includes only 14% who are Not At All Concerned.

Whites (63%) are bigger supporters of Blue Lives Matter laws than blacks (52%) and other minority voters (49%). But blacks (84%) are a lot more concerned than whites (66%) and other minorities (70%) about a potential shortage of police officers in their community.

Police Officers Killed Spikes 28% through July

(McAllen, TX Officer Jonathan) Shoop became the 32nd U.S. law enforcement officer shot to death this year on July 13, marking a 28% jump in felonious officer deaths over the same period in 2019, according to data from the FBI.

In the wake of George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police in late May, tremendous scrutiny was placed on policing with peaceful protests broadly calling for reform. But accompanying that was a rise in an anti-police sentiment that, experts say, manifested itself in attacks on officers, patrol vehicles and precinct stationhouses, leaving cops around the country feeling under siege.

So, once again we see the great divide: the left wants to defund/disband police departments while the rest of America wants to give them greater protection.

RIP Stephen Cohen, 81 of lung cancer.

One of the few sane voices when it came to RU. I didn’t even know he was sick.

    Was RBG a white supremacist?
Eventually she did break down and hire one black guy

Way back in 1993, as a Senate Judiciary Committee staffer to Orrin
Hatch, I prepared him for Ginsburg’s confirmation hearing. As part of
her submissions, Ginsburg sent in a form that revealed that over the
course of her 13 years on the D.C. Circuit she had never had a single
black law clerk, intern, or secretary. Out of 57 employees, zero blacks.

Woman suspect for Ricin sent to Trump arrested while trying to transit the Canadian border.

“An as-yet-unidentified woman was arrested at the Canada border on Sunday, three law enforcement officials told the Associated Press. The woman is suspected to be the sender of a letter intercepted on its way to the White House containing the deadly poison, ricin. The letter was addressed to President Donald Trump.

The woman was reportedly arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Peace Bridge border crossing near Buffalo. The letter itself is believed to have originated in Canada, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, but the suspect’s citizenship has yet to be confirmed.”

Vietnamese have organized rallies for Trump here in Silicon Valley twice that I know of (I attended one, it was great).

Cool quote from Hillary LOL after the death of Scalia.
The first para is fine and decent.
Paragraph 2: “The Republicans in the Senate and on the campaign trail who are calling for Justice Scalia’s seat to remain vacant dishonor our Constitution. The Senate has a constitutional responsibility here that it cannot abdicate for partisan political reasons.”

    Well, OK then! Settled.

Very much opposed to legislation like this. Fact I find hate crimes abhorrent. If we truly believe in equality before the law, then one also has to believe in equality of application of the laws. Hate crime laws devolve into a situation where certain classes in society acquire enhanced stations in jurisprudence. More law for me, less for thee.

Our system has sufficient leeway today to provide the severest of punishments for such acts without the laws on the books. Problem lies with the judges. Too many put their personal prejudices into their sentencing. That needs to stop.

A self-absorbed and utterly worthless “human being” threatens his father with never seeing his grandkids again if he votes for Trump.

One can only assume that if the father caves and takes down the sign, and swears to vote for Kamal Harris, that the son will follow up with the following actions:
    – remove ALL ” subversive” materials from Dad’s home (copies of the Constitution, biology books that mention male/female physiology, American history books NOT written Leftists, etc)
    – block all channels on Dad’s TV except MSNBC & CNN
    – remove all food from Dad’s house except kale & tofu
    – festoon Dad’s yard with “Fukc the Police”signs, and the like

DOW go bye bye~~~The worry of the day for the weak dicks in the market is the holdup on a new stimulus package. Seeing this TEMPORARY glitch, piglosi won’t be forth coming with $$$ , in hopes that Trump will get the blame for a falling DOW etc. She would rather see joe six pack lose big bucks on their 401k’s , than to see Trump reelected. Sacrificing the “little guy” for the good of their party is their modus operandi.
