A Sign of Things to Come

Most of us wretch at the mention of the name Target. We were once loyal customers before the chain went completely woke with permitting men claiming to be women to use women’s restrooms and dressing rooms, elimination of boys’ and girls’ departments and other PC-driven nonsense.

But, this week Target announced a move that likely will be copied by many other US corporations. Long a supporter of downtown Minneapolis and its City Center, the chain announced it will significantly reduce the size of its downtown Minneapolis footprint as more employees will continue working from home and others will be moved to less expensive suburban locations.

If many employees are working primarily from their homes, businesses will need much less commercial space – offices and cubes for employees who work primarily from the office structure along with conference rooms, a visitors area for remote employees for when they do come into the office to work and not a whole lot else.

My business recently relocated into a new location – medium-size, two-story building with about 25 small to mid-size suites. Each suite has a glass panel with a mail slot next to the door so it’s easy to tell which have employees working in the suites – less than 40%. The parking lot has 150 spaces, but there are never more than 35-40 filled. A suite on the first floor is attempting to dispose of its furnishings through an “office closing” sale.

This is coupled with reduced travel as more businesses are relying on Zoom and Google meetings, cutting air travel, hotel nights and extravagant dinners on the company’s expense account.

This will have a dramatic effect on the nation’s economy. Obviously commercial properties – especially in major metropolitan – areas will be the hardest hit. But businesses in commercial areas (restaurants, shops, etc.) will also be affected. Since fewer people are driving to work, gas sales (and gasoline taxes) will decline and vehicles will last longer.

It will be an interesting time.

The Price of Tomorrow by Jeff Booth

I read last month. I tend to believe tech will be more deflationary in the long run than the politicians can manage to be irresponsible.

Although im not as optimistic in the short run…

California just added mandatory critical race theory classes for k-12.

Conservative states should probably ban this and ethnic studies in their state constitutions before it spreads.

2, yeah the country is probably the least racist it’s ever been.

    It will never be enough.

There is less discrimination against minorities (especially blacks) than ever before, but I can make a case that the country is far more racissst today than it was in 1980.

Far more decisions are based on race than competency than there were in 1980.

One thing negatively impacted by remote employees is customer service. GoDaddy used to be great when you had an issue. Now, the customer service rep doesn’t know where to transfer your call if your problem is outside his/her area of expertise.

PRP, imagine the confusion when the AI is told it must use “Woke-English”… then quickly realizes such language is based on blatant lies. It might decide to wipe out humanity at that point. SkyNet?

In weimar germany they had to close the entire stock market bc ppl rushing for tangible assets and couldnt keep track of the paperwork. As soon as soon as ppl had their retirements moved back into paper (stock market closed) they were instantly devalued to nothing before they could manage to find something to buy to prevent it.

4, PRP, so are you guessing that the rise of crypto is due to stimulus checks rather than a large corporate purchase? Makes sense. I’d expect that corp guys to be finicky and avoid goosing the market much higher.

I’ll stick with my (totally uninformed) opinion: Bitcoin will rise all year until at least October.

As I mentioned earlier this week, much (most) of the increase in Asian hate crimes is coming at the hands of blacks:

But, the DOJ, FBI and media want to blame it ion whites.

Ashli Babbitt was put down because the officer was sure she had pipe bombs in her backpack.

Well, maybe not sure, but strongly suspected of carrying pipe bombs in her backpack.

Well, maybe not pipe bombs, but it sure wasn’t a Subway sandwich. Deadly force was necessary.

Well, okay. It was a sweater and a scarf. But the officer was terrified.

    The story is taking shape….

    Some good questions re: Ashli.
    1) why would the cop be afraid, don’t they have metal detectors?
    2) they give Antifa cookies, milk and an Uber ride home when they’re arrested, why shoot her dead? weren’t there non-lethal options?
    3) all she did was poke her head through. she didn’t break the glass. why not simply arrest her?

    commenter at JustOneMinute blog
“Re Babbitt and her backpack, aren’t there metal detectors that they would have had to pass through? Assuming they came in through public entrances and not those designated for Congress, I would be shocked if they were let in without any screening at all.
And as to nonlethal force in the CP’s possession, they had the numbers to subdue anyone (not everyone at once, but certainly any individual) without the use of weapons. No excuse for the shooting, and no blame for the victim, who had been allowed in the building and was not the one who broke the window.”

    2. Tulips.
    3. Nefarious. Inefficient. Energy hog.
    4. We demand govt ban it!
    5. We demand govt seize all private BTC for collective good.

If the govt wants to eliminate BTC they don’t have to do 4&5. All they have to do is specify in transactions with the govt (including paying taxes & fed contracts) that only FedCoin is accepted. Most sheeple won’t care or know the difference and the scale of the ecosystem will take care of the rest.

I found a way to buy microcaps btw. It would still be mostly post ICO but still micro. There is a decentralized exchange called uniswap that I can link to my private digital wallet.

Essentially you can trade anything on it. My friend recently bough AXION and BOND coin that both had 25 million dollar market caps. I’m sure they are all shitcoins, but in a bull market putting 1 or 2% of my crypto in nonsense stuff might still be worth it.

Only thing he warned me on is the gas fee, which is variable but can be high for the exchanges.
