The Farewell Sermon of the Fighting Parson of Shenandoah Valley

2021 April 25
by justrand

Peter Muhlenberg was a Lutheran Minister in Dunmore County, Virginia in the early 1770s.  He was elected to the House of Burgesses in 1774, and was a delegate to the First Virginia Convention.

In mid-January 1776, Muhlenberg, who was then a delegate in the Fourth Virginia Convention in Williamsburg, was appointed by the Convention to command the 8th Virginia Regiment. Muhlenberg rushed home to Dunmore County to tend to his affairs and begin to raise his regiment, and upon his return word spread quickly among his parish that he was to give a farewell sermon on the next Sabbath. Muhlenberg’s parishioners packed the church in Woodstock on the appointed day, January 21, with many standing outside in the cold to hear their beloved minister. When Muhlenberg arrived and ascended the pulpit, he wore his black minister’s robe. He began his sermon by recounting the many wrongs inflicted upon the colonists by Great Britain and reminded his parishioners of the worthiness of the cause for which they all struggled in 1776 and for which he was about to surrender his alter. He then declared, “that, in the language of holy writ, there was a time for all things, a time to preach and a time to pray, but those times had passed away . . . that there was a time to fight, and that time had now come!

Muhlenberg then removed his robe and stood before the congregation in his military uniform, an inspiration to all. Nearly 300 men enlisted in Muhlenberg’s regiment as a result of his sermon, and a legend was born.  Muhlenberg would fight and command troops in many of the most famous engagements during the Revolutionary War…right up to and including Yorktown.

I think he would say of our time:

there is a time for all things, a time to preach and a time to pray, but those times have passed away . . . that there is a time to fight, and that time has now come!”

Eph, you should have 8 days then since you have natural antibodies, yes?

Umm. I didn’t take the vaccine (due to being a troublemaker).

    I’m seriously considering contacting
It’s a bit pricy but you get an online consult ($90) and in nearly all cases a prescription for Ivermectin or HCQ (not sure of the price of the Rx yet). The frontline doctors are outside of approved Swamp organizations, so costs are out of pocket not covered by insurance.

These 2 (Ivermectin and HCQ) have fairly good evidence supporting that, if taken early, the meds will help you get a mild case. They aren’t considered useful for prevention.
It occurs to me that if you are avoiding taking a vaccine then it could be a good idea to have a medicine on-hand if you get the WuFlu or one of the variants.

This is an hour in length, so I doubt anyone will have time to view it. But the talk is well organized so I’ll note down some summary info.

A talk by Josh Philipp of Epoch Times to the Silicon Valley Association of Republican Women.

He sets the stage by talking about how the US Revolution supported inalienable rights for the People whereas the French and Russian Revolutions were completely based on government doling out freedom if and when it chose.

    Then he noted this sequence:
    1) Covid comes, probably from a Chinese lab
    2) China lies and what’s more, got WHO to back their lies
    3) Other governments followed Chinese policies based on the lies (claims of success) thus we got masks and shutdowns. Which don’t actually work.
    4) China profited by selling masks, etc
    5) China introduced vaccine passports which US and European progs are eying longingly
    6) China introduced government digital currency, therefore they know what everyone buys, no privacy, no tax avoidance plus government can revoke your funds and prevent you from buying train tickets, etc. You’re totally at their mercy

Note how freedom is no longer something that the People have, freedom is something owned by the government and given out as government chooses.
This was all in the first 23 minutes.
And they put it on Rumble instead of goolag’s YouTube, which is nice.

Barring JR’s prediction I give us another three years before things pop. I only say that because Americans are still self sorting into the two camps. Once that settles it will only take an incident. Slow at first then a snowball.

drdog, I just don’t think the Democrats (and all their diseased allies) are going to roll the dice on the 2022 election. The Communist Olympics will be over, and China will be ready to overrun Taiwan…and anyone else who gets in their way. They won’t want to bet on the 2022 elections either.

So I think the perfect storm hits in mid-2022.

BUT, I still think events may spiral rapidly towards CW 2.0 this year…this Summer. So I’m still preparing.

I will not discount your initial target date since it would only take a trigger event for it to happen. But if it does not launch then we are into 2024. 2022 could be a disaster for the Dims. If it is, the stage will be set for them to thru orgs like BLM to ramp up and then all bets are off as self sorting will probably be complete by then.

Just think of it as a prelude to ‘Escape from XXXXX’. Those that can take their pension out whole are being smart about it in more ways than one. Consider if you will, with reduced population and commerce in the Metros the tax base is going to sh#$. It means they will not be able to fund those pensions going forward. So you face reductions if you stay in taking a serious hit financially.

Our longtime neighbors just moved yesterday, and our new neighbors will move in soon. We haven’t met them yet, but we were told the husband is a Deputy from Sutter County…an hour or more away. Long commute. It’ll be interesting to talk to the parents (they have small kids, we’re told) about why they moved up here. But I suspect it is to get their kids out of Yuba City, which is the largest city in Sutter County…and has a growing drugs/crime problem.

“June 15, 2020 Update: Based on ongoing analysis and emerging scientific data, FDA has revoked the emergency use authorization (EUA) to use hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat COVID-19 in certain hospitalized patients when a clinical trial is unavailable or participation is not feasible. We made this determination based on recent results from a large, randomized clinical trial in hospitalized patients that found these medicines showed no benefit for decreasing the likelihood of death or speeding recovery. This outcome was consistent with other new data, including those showing the suggested dosing for these medicines are unlikely to kill or inhibit the virus that causes COVID-19. As a result, we determined that the legal criteria for the EUA are no longer met. Please refer to the Revocation of the EUA Letter and FAQs on the Revocation of the EUA for Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate and Chloroquine Phosphate for more information.”

28, yeah but frankly, I don’t consider CDC or FDA to be fair-minded parties.
First, they’ve proven to be politicized from the start of this pandemic
Second, the medical establishment has thrown up roadblock after roadblock for HCQ. Example, both The Lancet and JAMA studies were withdrawn from serious flaws. Most of the testing involved people already hospitalized or even near death. Instead of the claimed benefit which is use quickly after symptoms develop.
Third, at the worst the medicines HCQ and Ivermectin are well-known and benign. HCQ can be prescribed to pregnant women.

Seems to me that there is a lot of upside and no downside to have a small stash available.

Hydroxychloroquine can cause blindness but that’s not the real problem.

The real problem is it causes QT prolongation and back in March the original bundle was with azithromycin a drug that causes QT prolongation. The suspicion was that once randomized clinical trials were done (not the thousands of observational trials from the spring) there would be evidence of cardiac arrhythmias.

And once the trials were completed…..duh there was evidence of cardiac arrhythmias. Not only that but hydroxychloroquine was shown to increase both morbidity and mortality.

The fda rescinded it based on all this.

Btw i knew this was going to happen way back in feb when i first read of this stuff…

Btw our fda has been historically first class. When Europe and asia approved the used of thalidomide for peripartum nausea, it was the FDA that banned it in the USA despite pressure from pharmaceutical industry.

And seriously, danger from HCQ? You’re saying if I go to a party, then next day feel a fever coming on, lose my sense of smell and take a one time dose of HCQ to nip it in the bud, that’s enough to give me cardiac arrhythmia? Color me skeptical.
In malarial countries people buy buckets of HCQ and pop them like m&m’s. How come they’re not all dead?

Hold that thought. Now remember, FDA approved the feeding of animal parts in feed to herbivores. That has a link to what caused Mad Cow Disease. Has not been a case of MCD since the practice was stopped to my knowledge.
