Our Greatest Threat: Woke, White Liberals

2021 September 22
by bc3b

Woke, white liberals act as if they are compassionate toward minorities  especially blacks and Hispanics. But, are they? Or, are woke, white liberals simply using minorities as pawns to advance a leftist agenda?

Woke, white liberals went nuts when George Floyd died in police custody. They left their gated communities and gentrified neighborhoods to join Black Lives Matter race hucksters to protest the death of a black man who would not have died that day had he not tried to pass a counterfeit $20 bill, resist arrest and swallow lethal drugs.

On the other hand, woke, white liberals are ambivalent toward the slaughter of innocent blacks, especially children, in cities like Chicago. Most weekends 60+ are shot – a dozen fatally in Chicago. Few US cities have more woke, white liberals than Chicago. Yet, they do nothing to improve the situation. Protesting – or even speaking out when an innocent five-year black child is gunned down and mentoring black children doesn’t benefit the leftist movement. There’s no reason to waste virtue signaling on a child whose name no one but family members will remember in a week. Black lives matter when a black death can be used to promote a leftist agenda. Otherwise, not  so much.

Back to Minneapolis. There are far more woke, white liberals in Minneapolis than cities like Detroit, Cleveland and St. Louis. But Minneapolis liberals live in gentrified areas that have relatively little crime. Some woke, white liberal neighborhoods in Minneapolis contract with private policing firms to keep things really safe.

Now comes a survey in which a slight majority (51%) of Minneapolis woke, white liberals want to defund the police, while 75% of blacks oppose it. Minneapolis blacks living in crime-infested areas need police protection far woke, white liberals – another example of woke, white liberals being far more interested in the cause than those they pretend to have compassion for.

The big showdown in Minneapolis, the home of police defunding and the pretext for the wave of BLM race riots, was a referendum using misleading language in the hopes of eliminating the police department.

The story here is about a racial divide over police defunding. And had it been the more traditional kind of racial divide, the media would have been happy to talk about it.

Unfortunately, it’s the wrong kind of racial divide.

Black voters disliked the police department at higher numbers than white voters. (Don’t get the idea that is about actual experiences because black men are more in favor of police than black women are.)

But when asked, “Do you think Minneapolis should or should not reduce the size of its police force?”, 75% of black voters said, “No”.

On the proposal to replace the police department, 47% of black voters opposed the move while 51% of white voters supported it.

Black voters were also more likely to say that crime had increased.

Personally the white woke liberal is just the water in which a much more sinister fish swims. I speak of the democratic socialists of which AOC is a member. The likes of BLM are just the Schwarze Scharen of our era to be tossed aside once total control has been achieved.

When I think of Liberals. Matthew 23 comes to mind.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2023&version=NASB

The whole chapter is good. And really describes the left. But lines 27-28 sums it up really well.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. 28 So you too, outwardly appear righteous to people, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

    bc, this didn’t make sense:
“blacks living in crime-infested areas need police protection far woke, white liberals”
    Maybe “far more than”?

The part at the end about 47% of blacks versus 75% blacks was hard to follow. But that’s a quote from Newsmax, not you.
Was it 75% wanted to continue funding police at normal levels?
And on the issue of replacing cops with social workers blacks broke 53/47? With 53 in favor and 47 opposed?
    I’m puzzled.

The overall concept of your post seems sound and spills over to whites as well.
VDH often points out how upper middle whites (prosperous, low crime neighborhoods, educated/credentialed, trust pro Gov media, …) will favor some stupid policy like “be kind to homeless people” or “welcome illegals” or “send jobs overseas in return for low prices”. The Woke don’t suffer from these policies, at first. But they devastate poor communities.

I wondered the same thing. My guess with blacks is that 75% want police funding at the current levels but they would like to change the make-up – more touchy feely types and fewer cops with guns.

A point I would like to make is that while woke, white liberals love to talk about inequality, few – if any – will do anything about it (if this causes personal sacrifices). For example, they could organize Saturday classes in which they could work with young black students to help improve their academic performance. But, that would mean not hanging out with fellow liberals at Starbucks or Whole Foods on Saturdays.

That tends to happen after what 6 or 7 down days in a row. Was watching hedgeye yest/monday. He noted that weve been having an “episodic but non trending” mini crashes (vix spikes) once a month all this year usually around options expiration (third friday of each month, which was this last friday.) ppl would renew their options on Monday if they wanted.

It just happened that evergrande started over weekend

VIX only spiked to 29 on Monday at close. Keith’s number for a phase transition was >32

    17, wow big jump.
No one wants fiat so assets rise. But bad gov policies can trash your asset like rent restrictions on rental real estate.
And as they say, US dollar is better than nearly all other fiat “cleanest shirt in the dirty laundry basket”

So … there are plenty of cross currents.
Overall, I’ll bet on assets over fiat (but it’s a bet not a certainty).
And I’ll bet on debt over savings (a reasonable level of debt) because you’ll be paying back with less valuable inflated dollars.

Comment posted at another blog about Australia
Here’s the truncated link in full
    https://xyz.net.au/2021/09/westgate-bridge-blocked-15000-tradies-take-over-melbourne/

I thought this was an interesting report from Australia:
You missed a very important story from Melborne: https://xyz.net.au/2021/09/westgate-bri … melbourne/

The basic rundown is this. Our premier (aussie equivalent of governor) is an egregiously r-selected ratfucker whose been keeping us under virtual house arrest for most of the past 18 months. He recently announced that all tradies* would be required to get the vax within a few days. Now the thing about Australian tradies is that they’re famous for being a drunken, disagreeable bunch. Pretty much all of the stereotypes you’ve heard about aussies apply pretty much solely to tradies and bushies. So they haven’t been too happy about this. So on monday they rocked up to the cfmeu** headquarters demanding answers from John Setka, one of the top bosses of the CFMEU and the guy who generally acts as the head of the union’s muscle. Setka fronted up and told the workers that he’d sort it out. Next thing you know he’s on talkback radio calling them extremists and saying they’re not really in the union. The next thing he does is send a biker gang to go bash the protestors. It’s hard to emphasise what a big deal this is to someone who doesn’t know much about auspol, but basically, this would be kinda like Nancy Pelosi sending the Bloods or the Crips to go beat up BLM protestors. A really bad look. It gets worse when the bikies start getting the shit kicked out of them and eventually they have to get behind the riot squad who started firing tear gas and rubber bullets into the crowd. I got in the leg with one of those things myself, stings like hell.

Eventually the protest died out. But of course, all the labour politicians just couldn’t help but put themselves in even deeper shit by accusing the protesters of being nazis. Goddamn morons. Then Daniel Andrews committed what may well haven been one of the greatest blunders in the history of Australian politics. The damned fool initiated a two-week construction lockdown. Because lockdowns are all he knows how to do. In a stroke he: Established beyond any reasonable doubt that lockdowns are a punitive measure, not a health one. Completely annihilated his political support in the construction industry; a key ally for the andrews government. Took millions of furiously angry, high-T men who work with their hands all day and gave them two weeks of no pay and nothing to do. Allowed the whole state to see that the victorian state government is a paper tiger that commands little loyalty among the police. The protesters went in even greater numbers the next day. They even took over the westgate bridge. Cops couldn’t do a damn thing except try to corral them around a bit. People are getting bolder and bolder. At this rate there’s absolutely no way the Andrews government can survive two weeks of this. It looks like vicpol is seeing mass resignations*** as a result of cops being unable to deal with the constant stress and hatred.

Shits tense here. It feels a lot like what I imagine things felt like in Paris in the days before the French Revolution. Daniel Andrews seems to be doubling down and going for broke and unless his party has the sense to get rid of him, it seems like things will end in bloodshed. A strange feeling to be sure. This country has never been very political. Much like the Old South, Australia has always been defined by a culture of leisure. It wasn’t that long ago that one could easily not know who the prime minister even was and have no engagement in politics whatsoever. Now everything’s gone insane. The whole damn state revolves around the whims of an effeminate lunatic who shows every sign of having gone mad with power. People have now begun to reach their breaking point. I hate to sound obsequious, AC, but I really must thank you and others like you for giving me the knowledge to make sense of all this insanity. God only knows what sorry state I’d be in if I’d been left to try and figure these things out on my own. But knowing all that I know I have every confidence that I’ll be able to safely navigate the insanity and, God willing, help restore to restore things to sanity once the crisis is over.

*In american terms that would mean anyone who works on a building site more or less as well as contractors you hire to fix and renovate things

**The biggest union in the country, more or less owns the labour party which currently runs the victorian state government

***In keeping with the cities reputation as an insane commie shithole, I’d say at least 40% of all cops are women who don’t seem to understand that violence is a part of their job description.

All sorts of options in the opening play of a split up. But that is not the major play. Its the continued aftermath. My belief is that over time the socialist areas economies crumble and like commies everywhere to salve the masses they look for a scapegoat which would be the Red areas. Border wars start that finally escalate to full out war. Bottom line, a split is only temporary, eventually a forced reunification will occur. The wild card are certain external forces entering the fray.

I saw an article about Turbo Liberal Anti-vaxx Wine Moms.
Plenty of educated libs are/were against vaccines. But the differences include:
    1) Conservatives only distrust one vaccine
    2) Conservatives disagree with liberal anti-vaxxers and even mocked them but never threatened to fire them from jobs or prevent them from entering businesses, etc.
    3) Conservatives in general approve of vaccines but if presented with evidence might change their minds. The evidence we currently have didn’t convince and we sorta trusted CDC, etc

This whole “we agree to disagree” and toleration of differences is foreign to the Left.

BTC and ETH are not companies, they’re … well, they’re crypto currency. I dunno, I don’t think Ripple was a direct competitor, either. What is true is that the law suit by the feds against XRP/Ripple doesn’t make much sense. As part of their pushback and legal “discovery” they’ve asked for the records of federal employees who have owned or invested in XRP.
    https://www.fxstreet.com/cryptocurrencies/news/ripple-request-for-xrp-trading-history-of-sec-employees-denied-by-federal-judge-202109220403

This is beyond my abilities but maybe the suit is because BTC and ETH are classed by SEC as crypto currencies but XRP is a security. And the trading records of the regulatory agency would show how incoherent the lawsuit is. So far the judge is treating the request as a stunt.

Anyway, the GWP article is not showing a grasp of the subject.
