Rittenhouse, The Losers
Well first off we all were in a broad sense. Rittenhouse, after due investigation, should never have been charged with any crime. Period. But there some bigger losers as a result of this trial:
- The Media – With a drumbeat like a volcano erupting, to an organization the press tried to make this a issue at two levels. 1) It was race driven in its lead up painting Rittenhouse as a white supremacist. 2) An attack on the 2nd amendment by their trying to use ‘he crossed state lines’ to make a federal issue out of it. The thing is this was a white on white affair negating the racial aspect. The other was there is no crime of crossing state lines, with or without a gun.
Essentially the media will sink even lower in credibility for their involvement in the propaganda that ensued. Worse, I hope the judge in this case forwards recommendations that the producer and stringer for NBC be investigated and if needed, charged with an attempt of jury tampering.
Legacy Media lost another way too. Expert opinion is now available for all. Getting knowledgeable expert guests on a program used to be the sole domain of TV news. No longer. There were dozens of You-Tube content providers alone who covered the trial in detail, live, blow by blow. If you totaled up the billable hours seasoned lawyers were providing for free it ran into the millions.
-
District Attorneys – The side show that Binger provided at this trial opened up a lot of eyes as to the brazen attitude prosecutors have about issues at trial. Be it Bingers ditching 5th amendment rights to waving a gun around in the court room. A lot of people saw it for what it for what was, a witch-hunt of win at all cost, justice be damned. There will be more of a push to require courts be online. Referrals on malfeasance will rise. And surprisingly Soros will be a loser too, as it becomes obvious that his funded DA election positions should be disqualified at the ballot box.
-
Funding Sites – When a funding site like GoFundMe turns off someone like Rittenhouse for their own moral positioning, they lose. They do so first by losing the % that they could possibly earn. They also lose in the marketplace as other players will accept the business. GoFundMe made a moral and political judgment as there was nothing illegal for what the funds were to be used for.
-
Police – The fact that the police did not attempt to eliminate the riot or call in assistance from the State to do so will not carry much favor with the public. For all the taxes residents pay for the Law-n-Order boys to sit on the sidelines is bad for business. Rittenhouse was not the only person out that night with a gun. So it boils down to ‘If the cops won’t do something by God some of us will do it on our own’ starts to set in. That sets the stage for the next question – what are we paying for?
-
Self Defense – Call it a 2nd amendment issue if you wish. But that was a distinct undercurrent of you don’t have a right to self defense. Hell the prosecutor implied as much at trial by his remark of ‘… everybody takes a beating sometimes.’ (https://www.breitbart.com/2nd-amendment/2021/11/15/watch-prosecutor-says-rittenhouse-should-have-let-mob-attack-him-because-everybody-takes-a-beating-sometimes/) Very disturbing for a prosecutor to think in these terms. Self defense has been a legal precept going back to at least 11th century England.
All in all a lot of losers from this.

the other thing the Left lost with the Rittenhouse 18 month drum beat of HATE against the 2nd Amendment, White People and Common Sense was MOMENTUM.
Millions of Americans were deemed “White Supremacists” (whatever the fu@k that means), told they should NEVER defend themselves, and told no one should EVER interfere with the mobs destroying our cities.
And those millions of Americans are now WOKE to the lunacy of the Left. Most will stay awake.

My wife is questioning me why I say “Good! Accelerate.” whenever she reads to me some news story regarding the absurdity of the left. I told her the only way I see things getting better is for things to first get a lot worse so that people can no longer ignore what is going on in our society. The quicker it happens, the better for all of us. My cynical nature drives her crazy sometimes.

“My cynical nature drives her crazy sometimes.”
These days that is called Reality.
Better to be prepared but disappointed about events, rather than surprised and unprepared.

Been out of pocket, actually didn’t even hear the great news till very late friday night, glad I was wrong about it taking so long thinking it would be hung. Anyway as I get caught up, – excellent posts on the topic here (not just op’s).
Saw Nick Sandman and Kyle had a chat today, good, man to be a fly on the wall for that conversation…
“Most will stay awake.” — I love your optimism even if I don’t always share it JR. 😉
6 – I was just thinking about that while reading about the mass shoplifting events (aka looting) going on in Bay area this weekend with cops apparently incapable of doing much about it. I keep thinking hey the ‘collective they’ voted for insanity over and over again, what did they expect would happen? Why they complaining, get out there and join the shoplifters! 😉
[9]
yesterday 80 thugs ransacked a Nordstrom in Walnut Creek, CA
today somebody drove a car at high speed through a Christmas Parade in Waukesha, WI…not far from Kenosha. ‘Mass Casualty Event’ is how it is being reported, including shooting at bystanders.
The war is coming to the suburbs.

This is the story I said “Good! Accelerate.” to my wife. The leftist craziness here in the Bay Area voted for this so let’s bask in the results. I can’t wait for gangs to stake out territories and start killing each other over which has looting rights to the local Nordstrom and Louis Vuitton stores. The only way this can get better is when the Apple stores are looted.

Wasn’t just somebody. It was a future astronaut, brain surgeon and engineer. Their motives are inexplicable.

A theoretical way that the vaccine could cause DNA damage.
Only through modeling not actual measurement. So far.
Basically, there are mRNA bits that “walk” DNA and fix breakages. The worry is that the virus (and the vaccine) can chew up those guys to the point where breakage gets out of hand. In many cases the cell will commit suicide and spray the spike protein as the cell wall disintegrates.
In the comments one fellow suggests this process could also allow rapid cancer development. Yike.

Did you mean theoretical or theatrical? If you meant the latter think Zombie Apocalypse. DNA melt down, roaming the lands for more brains. But then I guess I should not be too harsh on Democrats.

mpt called it in comment #11 above. The suspect Darrell E. Brooks, was simply hurrying home from rescuing kittens and orphans from the cold in Wisconsin when he glanced down at the physics book on the seat beside him that he needed to study for an upcoming test. His foot must have slipped off the brake…or something.

Uh huh. Got it.

Even as the Department of Justice Inspector General released a report this week criticizing the politicization of the department, the FBI on Tuesday raided the homes of a Republican election official and several of her associates in Mesa County, Colo., in connection with a dispute about efforts to preserve 2020 election files.
In collaboration with state and county law enforcement, the FBI raided the homes of Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters, Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert’s former campaign manager Sherronna Bishop, and two others.

I am wondering and excuse the pun, how does one pull this off?
After reading the linked article, the professor seems to be willing to bring the evidence public in a hearing where he believes he will be vindicated. Perhaps he’s doubling down on stupid, but, then again, perhaps he is the unjust victim of a snowflake. From the sound of it, the student’s lawsuit against the university seems a LOT more suspect to me than the professors. Let’s see what the courts have to say about this.

The Australian army has begun forcibly removing residents in the Northern Territories to the Howard Springs quarantine camp located in Darwin, after nine new Covid-19 cases were identified in the community of Binjari. The move comes after hard lockdowns were instituted in the communities of both Binjari and nearby Rockhole on Saturday night.

An interesting WI story in this blog post’s round-up.
https://www.thenewneo.com/2021/11/22/roundup-time-again/
“A person who wrote a story for the NY Times on all the destruction from the August 2020 Kenosha riots says that her story was held by the paper till after the 2020 election. Most likely it was for political reasons; I’d expect no less of them.
[Reporter] Bowles admitted earlier this month that when she started at the paper in 2017 that she was a raging liberal with an agenda to push, but said somewhere along the way she woke up and started pushing back, which was not appreciated by her colleagues.”
A link to the NYT article is given (eventually they DID print it) but there’s a paywall. The title says that damage from riots was devastating to small companies–not enough insurance to recover (or maybe if they made a claim, they would not be able to get insurance going forward … I couldn’t read the full article).

Be very skeptical of these “news” outlets rushing to proclaim that the Waukesha killer was just “fleeing a crime scene.” He had places to turn off, he could have honked, he could have slowed down to let the people move. Instead, he accelerated into children. That’s no accident.
Commenter:
The clip I saw showed the truck veering from the part of the road with no or fewer people into the part that was more densely filled with people.

Pure BS, but not unexpected from the “news” outlets. If the people buy this we deserve everything that is coming to us in the coming years. Since when is fleeing a crime scene a valid justification for wantonly mowing over and killing people.

Awesome staff! Decent facilities!
My 14 day quarantine experience was made less challenging due to the incredible staff who were happy to help with any concerns I had or anything I needed. The facility itself is more than adequate and my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The food is fantastic and super healthy. You also have the option of ordering groceries from the local IGA or Coles The verandah and the ability to go outside for fresh air and chat to your neighbours is a game changer for mandated quarantine. Very well done Howard Springs and a big thank you to all the staff.

38,
Consider if you will Brooks had one bail fulfillment outstanding. One bail he had skipped on. And yet both the DA AND the JUDGE let the guy slip out with a $1000 bail yet again!! That is not an oversight, that is criminal malfeasance.

What a joke,’ thank you sirs may I have another?’ rage is all I’m thinking if real, but if I were a betting man, I would bet bs post by staff member or gov rep to hold the narrative.
