Happy Independence Day to all ya’ll.

Later today I’ll be putting up a more “somber” post…but starting with feeling GOOD about America’s chances is, well, a good way to start! 🙂

We went to the annual La Porte CA Independence Parade on Saturday. You could not ask for, nor find a more patriotic small town parade. A couple thousand people drove up to La Porte to watch and participate. Only a few dozen people live in La Porte full time, but they host this every year and it is GREAT!! And a whole of “Let’s Go Brandon” and “FJB” shirts and flags!! 🙂

    Let Freedom Ring!!!

Happy 4th everyone. Let’s hope the GOP is able to rein in Brandon next year.

A preview of what is coming to the US and Canada? It’s amazing how the working class often votes against its own interests (e.g. working class Americans voting Democratic). The media, which elected Biden, still is a large part of the problem.

    4,

I gotta ask — How do they pull it off? The parade I mean. I fired up google maps and it lists a population of 26 as of 2010! Looks like a darn beautiful area in the forest and all.

drdog, I’ll post a couple pictures. There are lakes and campgrounds all around the La Porte area (Grass Valley lake being the biggest), and lots of people come there in the Summer. In the Winter the road past it is closed (usually for six months) because of the snow, and so people go up to snowmobile around there. So lots of folks know about it.

A lot of my friends from where I live (Clipper Mills) help organize it each year, and the local fire station hosts a big tri-tip dinner afterwards (hundreds of folks hang around for it…we did as well).

The “parade route” is two blocks long…and they circle around it several times, to cheering each time!

Here’s two of my friends kicking off the parade

we were sitting down towards the end of the “route”. Dozens of vehicles (fire trucks, “floats”, etc)…and lots of kids riding bikes and even driving ATVs down the street.

Justrand, your description very much reminds me of the parades I grew up with during the 70’s in our small community of Sleepy Hollow in Marin County, CA. Decorated bikes and cars, patriotic music and bands, 100’s of people lined up along the route laughing and clapping, and all followed by a BBQ at the local clubhouse.

Apparently the parade is still quite an event:

The problem in the US isn’t with rural, small town or even with medium size cities. It’s with big cities surrounded by woke suburbanites.

And, many cities keep getting worse. I never thought I would see the day when Chicago would be worse than Detroit, but that day has come. Unlike Detroit, Chicago still has some middle class and upper class neighborhoods within the city, but those no longer are safe.

This is in the Wrigley field area, mostly woke childless couples and gays.

bc3b, you made an eerie prediction.

Five people were dead and 16 others wounded when a gunman opened fire on a Fourth of July parade that kicked off Monday afternoon in Highland Park, a city in the southeastern part of Lake County, Illinois, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Dozens of UK doctors tear the CDC a new one.

Letter to the U.K. Gov from 76 Doctors
Comprehensive reasons why the U.S. FDA decision authorizing COVID vaccinations in infants and young children must not happen in the UK.
    Here’s the calm beginning:
“We would urge you to consider very carefully the move to vaccinate ever younger children against SARS-CoV-2, despite the gradual but significant reducing virulence of successive variants, the increasing evidence of rapidly waning vaccine efficacy, the increasing concerns over long-term vaccine harms, and the knowledge that the vast majority of this young age group have already been exposed to SARS-CoV-2 repeatedly and have demonstrably effective immunity. Thus, the balance of benefit and risk which supported the rollout of mRNA vaccines to the elderly and vulnerable in 2021 is totally inappropriate for small children in 2022.

We also strongly challenge the addition of COVID-19 vaccination into the routine child immunization program despite no demonstrated clinical need, known and unknown risks (see below) and the fact that these vaccines still have only conditional marketing authorization.

It is noteworthy that the Pfizer documentation presented to the FDA has huge gaps in the evidence provided”
After this, they show themselves to be riled up. OK, just kidding but it’s a strong statement.
    Heh, one more snip:
“It is incomprehensible that the FDA considered that this represents sufficient evidence on which to base a decision to vaccinate healthy children.”

Highland Park is a very affluent suburb along Lake Michigan and about 25 miles north of downtown Chicago. It has a large Jewish population.
